Do you like music? ... well Europe is the place to enjoy it. The Netherlands as well as other countries in Europa have festivals everywhere. The festival activities star in late Spring, the major activity is in the Summer and a few more in Fall.... so there is plenty to choose!
Festivals are awesome, I am still learning about it, but so far it is one of the best experience ever. Just go there and have fun ... and the trick stay there in the camping area the fun never ends there!

PINK POP located in the south of the Netherlands, this is a festival that mix different genres of music, it is possible to see The Cure one day and the next day Linking Park... so if you are more alternative, look for that one!. But if you are looking for a long dance electronic day, check LOVELAND festival, this one is at the city of Amsterdam in the summer!. INCUBATE in Tilburg, this is the most diverse festival that I never experience before. You can find Black Metal bands and classical composer in the same day (of course different scenarios) Hip-Hop and Experimental Folk, Acid music and galactic grooves! Any how it's a great festival to enjoy the diversity!
Dokk'em OPEN AIR. Metal close to Groningen! 2 fantastic days, it is located 45 minutes in car from the city of Groningen. It's a small festival with good names on it! don't lost the change to go.
IN TO THE GRAVE. Metal and more metal, located in the city of Lewarden (45 minutes in train from Groningen) this small festival is full of Dutch and international metal bands. They always have a big name to close the festival, this year was Megadeth! next year Sepultura! This festival is very cheap in comparison with other festival in the Netherlands, so take advantage of it!
Don't forget about the free festivals, national days or national parties as the KING'S DAY and the LIBERATION DAY always offer the change to go to a free festival.

Advice: First it all you need a camping set: tent, sleeping bag, back pack and things to survive in a camping environment. Second, find some friends to go with ..festivals are much better with company and third save a bit of money for this activities (it can be a bit expensive sometimes).
If you like music, does not matter what do you listen to, it's always a festival around with your favorite bands on it! Make a plan, look for your favorite bands and pack your stuff, summer can be the best time to jump from festival to festival!
Bueno, ahi estuvo en Ingles ahora en Español, como decia anteriormente una de las cosas mas expectaculares en Europa y en Holanda es la cantidad de festivales de música. Hay de todo para todos los gustos, por lo tantos si vienen aca a estudiar o de vacaciones les recomiendo chequear la lista de festivales en especial en los meses de verano. Junio, Julio y Agosto tiene muchismo que ofrecer.

Aqui unos tips, primero deben tener su equipo de camping, carpa, aislante, sleeping bag, taza para el cafe en la mañana y hay que empacar ligero.
Segundo, es mas facil ir a los festivales con amigos y aun mejor con amigos que tenga experiencia, tambien se pude ir solo, pero pero es mas fácil y seguro estar con un grupo de gente. Los festivales son bastante pacificos y hay seguridades pero no falta algunito que se pase de vivo y por ahi se lleve alguna cosa.
Tercero, plata...caramba la plata es todo como dicen y los festivales van de 14 euros por un dia ha 180 o 200 euros por 3 dias. El precio varia dependiendo del pais y de la magnitud del festival.
Los festivales que puse en la lista de festivales anteriormente son en lo personal los mas interesantes para mi, pero exiten muchisimos mas en toda Europa asi que es cuestion de planificar y ahorrar plata.

Para el 2015, he repetido Dokk'em open air. Este año incluyeron una variedad de bandas que van desde Shining hasta Gentle Storm. Este festival es relativamente pequeño pero algunos lineups de este festival incluyen grandes nombres. Para este año las bandas que cerraron el dia fueron Candlemass y My Dying Bride.
Pero tambien se incluyeron bandas clasicas como Biohazard and Madball y por lo visto dentro del publico holandes todavia son bandas favoritas. La pista estuvo llena de fans de diferentes edades.

Creo que una de las mejores sorpresas para mi en este festival fueron Moonsorrow y Powerwolf, diferentes stilos pero ambos con gran presencia de escenario. Moonsorow de Finlandia una combinacion de black metal y folk metal y Powerwolf power metal de Alemania.

En lo personal creo que
los festivales pequeños crean una atmosfera mas amigable. Las areas de
camping son amplias y de facil acceso a los stages y sanitarios y
duchas. En general etan los famosos Dixies o baños portatiles que no son
de mi entero agrado pero estan disponibles 24 horas. Los otros baños
con agua corriente solo se encuentran en el area de los stages por lo
tanto se pueden utilizar durante las horas de concierto.
A
pesar de que Dokk'em es un festival pequenio, tiene muy buena
organizacion y facilidades. Bueno la comida no es del todo buena y
ademas tiene sobrecio. Pero en general esta muy bueno a 45 minutes de
Groningen por carro y por tren y bus es alrededor de 1 hora y 25 minutos.
